Type of spaghetti worm? (pics)
This was on my glass this evening. I'd guess it was a little longer than the diameter of dime:
Cropped: Can anyone ID it for certain? It is the only one I have ever seen in the tank. |

that is a cirratulid polychaete AKA hair worm. they are excellent detritus munchers.

Thanks Paintbug and reefworm. I think the two types of worms look very similar. I'll scan the web for more picture comparisons!
It's a creepy critter, anyway! |

I have a bunch of them in my sand bed and every now and then see one on the glass. I don't know whether it's a hair worm or spaghetti (I've called them both names interchangeably) but I can agree with Paintbug that they do a great job of keeping my sandbed clean.
