A good example of what's going on in my kneecap:
Imagine you have a box of ice cream. Take a scoop out of the ice cream, and then put the scoop back in it's hole. That's what it's like. Everytime my kneecap moves up/down, i.e any lateral movement, the chip wiggles around in it's hole, and can potentially fall out and float around in my knee. Grinds up against the protective cartilage along the groove in your tibia (or fibula I forget).
