not really, though I am debating the dismantling of part of one of the pillars.

I want to open the tank up a little more, so iw as thinkig of taking the top 3 rocks from the pillar that is second from right and then placing the original top stone, with all its corals a little further back. This would make a kind of plateau that spread backwards and across the back half of the tank.

---does that mnake sense?

heres a pic that may help visualize it.

In essence, yes, and moving it backwards slightly...by about 6 inches

I think I can see what you are trying to do.

It will increase the viewing depth, swimming range, and also by moving the rock back, makes the tank look deeper.

I don't know, I just have the 'shock and awe' face every time I look at your tank Paul!

Thats the exact reason yes. Plus it will remove some of the symmetry that I introdcued with 4 pillars.

sounds like someone used an ammonia based cleaner. it will cloud acrylic....permanently.

I use an acrylis cleaner on the outside and a plastic scraper (credit card) on the inside.

here are a few pics I took while trying my new camera.............
Lets just say it has a LOT of buttons.

For you shutterbugs: these were all taken with the standard lens that came with camera, the 18-135 zoom. The camera is a Nikon D80

and a zoom in:

an encrusting green montipora from Lori (saltysooner)

and again a zoom in (check the color of the superman behind it)

Pics look good, so does the tank Are the pics right from the camera or did you do any post processing before posting... I can't wait until I get stuff into my tank and it starts looking half way decent so I can use my Canon 30d more...

i reduced brightness, thats all.

Im still working with a new camera, there is a way it will autocompensate for high low light areas.....but thats a few pages away yet.

The close ups are really not true close ups, but at 10.2MPixel, you can crop tight and still get good definition.

The last set I posted are all direct from camera

wow. I guess us people on the low end of the camera totem pole are gonna have to find amazing shots to have a chance at POTM now, lol. Those are amazing pictures! Maybe we should make the cool camera people do a tank tour to get great pics for the rest of us. hehehe
