Question Internal Pumps

I am considering up grading from my cap 2200 on a pro clear aquatics protein skimmer to a mag 12 or 18, which pump do you think is a better?
also, do I need to replace my return pump it is mag 9.5

I'm not familiar with that protein skimmer, but I have used both the Mag12 and Mag18 and the Mag18 is considerably noisier than the Mag12. As far as upgrading your 9.5, going up to a Mag12 wouldn't hurt.

lizardarm thanks,
My nitrates will not drop below 20, some of my corals are showing signs of stress. I hoping that if I upgrade the pumps this will help the nitrate levels.

Well, we moved the mag 9.5 on the protein skimmer and 1 mag 12 in the sump of the wet/dry & 1 mag 12 on the refugium side. so far so good. I am getting foam in the skimmer.

The skimmer is working fine. I did have a concern that we might be over skimming, but its making foam just fine. The water is the clearest I have ever seen. My nitrate levels are going down by the day.
