RBTA won't stay put!!??
I have had a RBTA for about 1 1/2 years and it has been very well manered... that is up untill about 2 months ago. It decided that it was not happy about at about mid level in a 24" deep tank and has moved towards the top of the tank and is hanging out around the overflow. The tank is lit by 3 250w Pheonix 14Ks and 2 160w VHO actinics and 4 60w 10K/actinic PCs. (Plenty of light) The bulbs are all about 6 months old (VHO and PC about 4months). All my water params are in check for an SPS tank and I have been doing nothing different during this time.
What do you think the problem is and how can I get this thing to stay away from the overflow? THanks in advance! |

Could another inhabitant be irritating it? Has your water flow changed? Are you feeding it fairly often?

Make a rock "mountain" in your tank that doesn't touch the sides of the tank. Put the nem in a crevice/depression near the top of this mountain. IME, a RBTA won't climb down the mountain to find a wall to go up unless it is seriously PO'd.
