clown question

i got a pair of fealse perc clowns maybe an inch long during introduction in to the tank i lost one of the fish dont know why my lvls are good at intro 0 amonia nitrate was at 5.and my nitrite is at 1 when the fish had died sometime durring the night and i found it when i got up the next morning i called the place up and they told me to bring them a water sample up there to them to see. whel it had been 2 days before i could go back up there and they wouldnt give me a new fish or my money back becouse my amonia was at 1.0 he was being a jerk about it

would a clown fish servive on its own for a period of time like 3 -4 weeks i have a engineer goby as whell but they dont mess with one another

Your ammonia was 1.0? Or they claimed it was?

What do you mean about whether a clown fish could survive on its own? Without care? Another clown?

It doesn't need another to survive.

What had you wanted the store to do by the way? With the ammonia reading that high I'm not sure what they might have been expected to do.

Silly question but I must ask....did you leave the dead fish in the water until you took it back?

Not sure what to tell you but looking from the store's perspective they have a customer bringing in a dead fish and a lethal water sample. I'd not have expected a refund in that case.
