What Should your Ideal ORP reading be?

I just orderd a AC III controller and wanted to see what is the ideal ORP reading without using ozone? I heard of some people say 400 but I have not seen anyone with a reading that high without ozone.

Also I wanted to see if anyone using a ORP as a benchmark of the preformance of the skimmer or activated carbon.

ORP between 300 and 400 is usually a pretty good ball park. It's more about the trends than the absolute numbers, unless your running ozone and need to be sure it doesn't get high enough to be a problem.

The important question here is, how does the tank and it's inhabitants look.

Mine is usually at least 450, and I don't use Ozone. I don't know if that's real or if my probe is wonky.
Everything is pretty happy - corals, fish, inverts.
