Anyone have a Copperband Butterfly Fish for sale?

Looking for a Copperband Butterfly fish to take care of some pesky Aiptasia that keeps growing back after I kill it.

Anyone have one for sale or that I could borrow

Hey Gerry,

I guess it is hit or miss with those, i bought one for that same purpose but it wouldn't eat the aiptasia or anything for a matter of fact.

Thought about Berghia but they are so damn expensive and I don't want it to be a meal for my 6 line wrasse. And, I don't think I will catch my 6 line wrasse in my 180G tank...

Also, from what I read, you need to grow the nudi branch until it's about half an inch long for it to survive...

Anyone have success with the copperband?

Mine has done a great job with the aiptasia, and eat's mysis well too.

You have to be careful though. I went to three stores and asked them all to see if their copperbands ate prepared well before I found one that did. While he was in quarantine I added rocks with aiptasia, small feather duster, zoas, etc. to test him. He prefered the feather dusters (they were gone in my tank within hours) but he ate aiptasia as well and didn't touch my zoas. The only other fish I have known to be more difficult to find eating prepared are mandarins.

Im having problems finding Copperbands locally. They sell out quickly before the LFS even attempts to feed them.

I think I will try the QT tank idea once I find a decent CBB locally.

They also die quickly and are a very delicate fish.. very intimidated. A longnose butterfly is hardier, and mine ate aiptasia when I had it.
