Protein Skimmer-CPR SR9 question

I purchased a used 90 Gal tank setup, it came with a CPR SR9 protein skimmer but was missing the pump. I have been slowly getting the parts for the skimmer as I have been cleaning the tank and getting the plumbing going. My question is, it appears that this skimmer is rated for up to 600 gallons. Is this too much overkill for the 90 gal? This is a big unit and space is limited in the sump. I have thought about getting something smaller instead of dealing with getting it working especially if it really is too much for the tank.

Regards,
Brian

Does it have a pump with it? If so, which pump? They were good skimmers. You could sell it and buy what you need.

It did not come with a pump, I bought a GEN-X 2400 for it and am working on getting a turbo venturi for it.

It looks like the beginning of a good needlewheel skimmer.

Does that have a beckett injejctor on it?

Excuse my ignorance but what is a Beckett injector? I did some quick reading it looks like it does what a Kent Turbo Venturi is supposed to do. Is a Beckett Inject better for producing bubbles than a Turbo Venturi?

Just a different style of skimmer. When looking at a picture, I was wondering what is in the middle of the tall pvc tube.
Do you have a picture of it?

I went ahead and pulled the skimer off the instructions. Bascially the middle of the tube is another tube about 3/4" that forces the water/bubbles down to open area then helps direct the bubble up. I went by home depot last night looking for a becket injector by the pond area but no luck. I'll still try to get an actual picture though.

The larger pipe just below the adjustable pipe looked like a beckett in the very small picture on the CPR website.
