Rich Conley got a OTP3000 to 50-60SCFH...his 5-50 meter was pegged hard, so he had to speculate...but it was def above 55SCFH.

I got my OTP1000 to 20SCFH.

IMO the watt draw is what sucks. the OTP1000 is rated at 18 watts. out of the box it ran 36 watts.

I don't think many have messed with the OTP2000.

FWIW...a Laguna maxi jet 2400 was quickly modded to pull 120SCFH at 85 watts and 36" of head!! I think with some further work it could do 130+SCFH

What pump do you guys have that is close to an OTP1000? I'm looking for a replacement for my 5"x24" DNW110 with a 2.5" neck.

there is a drop down menu here that will give you more options. Go to the RMB series with brass metering valve one and click the "Display the product I have selected" button just below the menu box.

JCTewks,

Thanks for the info!

Do you have images of the moded OTP1000? I looked at the OTP3000 pics in Rich's gallery, he's a maniac!! That's pushing DIY to the limits!

As far as a pump that would be close to the OTP 1000, you could use the SP2 @ 350 gph. We don't currently offer a smaller pump.

JCTewks,

I see that you're a rec tec. What are you working on these days? Pro Tools? DP? Cubase? Logic? I have a small studio at home I just updated with a Digi003 Rack Factory. I have been using DP for about 10 years and finally jumped ship. All of my buddies use PT and the keyboard player in my band lives in TX using PT so... It makes it easier to swap files and work remotely.

I have so much old analog gear that I still need analog mixers and interfaces for them so it keeps the tons nice and warm without to much need for PI's.

I also ran FOH for about 3 years from 2000 to 2003 for a few different bands touring the US. Lots of fun!

Who are you working with/ projects these days??

It is going to take time to break in. It may take a day or two. I wouldn't worry yet.

yes!! You might end up with some considerable water loss if these break in right after you go to bed

JC,

Cool tunes! I see you are ministry minded. I used th run FOH for THE KRY. One of my best friends does FOH for the Harvest Crusades all over the country. Is that shot of the kit in your drum room? If so, shweet!!

I used to run all my audio through a Soundcraft Spirit Recording console before the studio had to shrink ( enter, my daughter ). I am a huge analog fan. I'll never dump my gear.

I'll check out the mod pics tomorrow. Thanks again for sharing.

That is the drum room!!...not my kit though Really nice black satin DW that i used on some stuff. I really need to get some new pics up soon

how much does a KSP3500 run? I really need to get something back on the skimmer soon.

The original poster said it takes about 2 hours to break in, but in my case it took longer. Once it works right, the bubbles in your skimmer will much smaller.

there are oils and residue from the manufacturing process that are left on the mesh that will need to wear off. Also, as the mesh gets a slime coat on it from bacteria it will spin smoother with less drag and perform better. Then you have the fact that as the pump breaks in over the first few days to a week, the mesh is flattening and getting slightly larger, which also effects the performance for the better as long as it doesn't start rubbing

So no-one will be checking on your tank for 2 weeks? Just lower the water level in the skimmer for now, and see how it acts over the weekend.
