Catching a mantis.

I've been hearing the dreaded clicking coming out of my tank recently. I'm not sure if it's a mantis or a pistol. I wouldn't mind the pistol but I don't want a mantis. Anyway I'm planning on making the inverted bottle trap and was wondering what to use as bait? All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i would think since they are carnivours that any meaty food would suffice. shrimp, crab, fish, you get the picture right? are you sure its a mantis or a pistol. sometimes i hear a clicking inside my tank and its usually just a hermit or snail hitting the glass with its shell.

A big hunk of shrimp is pretty tasty. I would use something big to tempt what ever is making the sound.
