will kalk reactor handle the job or do i need a cal reactor?
Will a good kalk reactor do all i need it to do. I have some coral now, but i plan on adding a good bit more in the future. I see some instances where people have to end up getting a calcium reactor instead. i really don't have any sps or clams at this time, but i do plan on attempting them. In certain situations a kalk reactor can help keep a stable ph level too right?

Just do the kalk reactor first. If you can't meet up with demands in the future, then add the calcium reactor.
It's nice to run both at the same time in the future if your tank is stock with sps/clams. |

when using kalk do you have to worry about your ph or does the reactor just help maintain a steady ph level in your system. i know with a nilsen reactor you do not use co2 as with a cal. reactor.

Kalk is generally beneficial to the Ph of most systems and should be adequate for calcium supplementation for a new system for quite a while. Check out the reef chemistry forum for lots of great info on Kalk water dosing!
