Com'n Amanda... we haven't talked that LONG ago. Of course I got rid of it. I am in the depths of planning on my new tank. Something like either a 28 gallon or 40. But that wont be for another 4 or 5 months.

Yay! Today I was met agian by my new beautiful mandarin! I fed him and he gobbled up some mysis and has showed no signs of losing weigth. I really want a target mandarin, but i will settle for this guy just fine. Do you think putting a prepared food eating female with this guy (if he does well ~ 1 year from now) would be okay, or would it be pushing it?

My calcium experiment seems to be working although i need to get a testkit....iknow iknow.... my hamileda is exibiting great growth since my additions, adding about a "coin" everyday.

Currently, im working on getting $ and will purchase a Tunze Stream ($127 one) and will put some monties and pollicopora in soon.

Thanks Amanda, the new tank is just in the thought process right now as to what I may want to do. Alot is happening with my older daughter getting her license within the next month and my Son going to college this coming fall. Alot is happening and I need to look at a bunch of things before I can make a move.

It is all in the thought process and writing down what I will need to make it happen.

Amanda, good to hear from you. im sorry you lost your videos im really glad you are back though, now we can see what your tank looks like

Jordan, i didnt know you had a mantis. what kind? i have a N. Wenny, that i dont get to see too often i have him in a 10 gallon, with all my bad hitchers from TBS and the hermits im in the process of removing from my main tank. i htink my next tank will be a hermit-less crew. well i may keep a couple of scarlets, just for diversity

any way here is my 10 gallon mantis nano

hows your nano RJ?

I took down the nano and moved the big emerald crab over to the 55g. So far the Eel is not interested in the green guy and he has been in there for about 2 weeks now. It will be nice if the Eel does not eat him because I like emeralds and they take care of the bubble algae.

Wow that is a nice color of coralline! That looks nice. You could throw some base rock in there and have yourself a live rock culture station!

What I find amazing is my tank grows corraline EVERYwhere except the stinking rocks. I just razor bladed my glass and you could barely see in. I can't believe a single urchin could keep the rocks that clean.

see those two bare rocks in there

thats exactly what ill do for my local friends. ive been putting a couple small pieces in til they get covered up, then give em back, or trade to the next person that needs a coraline kick.

Jay what i did to get mine started was turn my powerheads off when i scraped the glass. this let the flakes settle onto the rock, generating new growth spots all over the rocks and SB.

mine is just starting to take off in the newer big tank, and its beating the two long spine urchins i have. one should not make that huge of difference, unless you have no other algae, or very little rock. i know you dont have the rock issue, so maybe it just need to get a good hold, before it takes off. your system is still pretty new (you are talking about the big tank tight?).

No the smaller tank. It's been 2 years roughly. Got plenty of rock and only one urchin. Hopefully the new one will be better.

Hello Amanda!

I am almost at the 5k posts mark, maybe I will hit it today. We could sure use some nice new full tank shots as well as some closeup's of different area's and the Seahorses.

Thanks ahead!

In case you didn't see my other thread, I'll toss a few pics into here since you asked.

Be aware, the tank is still not cleared up in this picture and I'm missing 1 MH in the middle and a VHO in the back. Also it's a bit cloudy and the corals just got moved the night before and are still ****ed at me

OK, One more quick flow question then back to the lighting.

just 1 6060 tunze stream $127.03? or

2 of the Seios. $149.99
http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=TA3717

Which would be the best option?

with the seios i would have a flow rate of appox. 3830
with the 1 tunze i would have a flow of appox. 2430

Any input, or possibly new suggestions would be apprecitated.
Also, which setup would be more obstuctive?

I have toyed around with the idea of a closed loop with 900 coming from each of 3 nozzles (loc-line) however, the cost would be increased a more than i would like.

I have a seio and i dont trust it farther than i can throw a box of live rock. Get the tunze IMO. Too many stories to have peace of mind.

Thread has been quiet. Any updated pics? I bought some really really nice fish this weekend and it's good and bad.

Good because I had to add them to prevent agression. Bad because they were a couple tangs but oh so beautiful. I'll get pics soon but right now tank is having some sand particles everywhere. Playsand is a major PIA of this. I thought it was microbubbles, but I can't believe it is. It really makes the water not as clear and microbubbles just is annoying but doesn't affect clarity. Correct?

I got a few nice corals and a killer squamosa black and white clam. Never seen one black and white.

Ok, finally the pics!

i made a glass frag shelf in the right corner, its roughly 25" x 12", its for my sps frags as a grow out, also for damaged/new sps.

The SH tanks is slowly getting there, the breeder still doesn’t have the 4-6 (Western Australian) horses im after. Hope to get them soon! i haven’t added much livestock for my 110g lately, as im saving for a trip to visit some of you guys in the USA

Cheers Josh

Jay, I LOVE your tank! Congrats mate!!I would say your on the right track, its the sand.
