I'm currently trying to raise some Bandensis (that is the assumed ID for now) from egg.

I have 35 babies at the moment feeding on mysis.

Here's a few pics:

They tend to walk on the two "legs" mainly, but do swim occasionally.

Those babies are about 11mm in those pictures.

Mike,

You have me so jealous! What great pics. Did you receive eggs or were you lucky enough to have a pair mate?

Your location is not in your avatar, but if you're in the US, Lefty is the man for you!

Reefnewbie,

You must mean a komodo dragon. That's really funny! How does one smuggle in a komodo dragon anyway? I don't imagine they can be very quiet or very non wiggly.

I wonder why someone would ever want a komodo dragon? But then I suppose some would say who would want an octopus.

Only reefcentral could relate.

MJI, that is amazing! Are they hard to breed/raise? What size tank do you have the adults in?

BTW do you sell the babies.....and do you ship?

Bill

Bill,

The hardest thing is probably getting hold of them in good condition, or getting the eggs.

Hatching and rearing are not difficult per se, but it takes a lot of time and effort.

My adults are in a 75gallon, and there are now 8 in there that I can count (but they do hide well).

All my babies are now gone, but even if i had some left I would not ship to the US. Eggs are a different matter though, and may look into this at a later date when mine (fingers crossed) breed.

I know Lefty (from here) has raised some before and he would be the best to advise on availablity/conditions in the US.
