Superglue

I am needing to make a drain for my refugium. I was going to glue a piece of PVC pipe union directly to the glass but I do not know if superglue would be bad for the water. Anyone know about this?

Super glue will not be bad for the water but that connection will fail. Most use super glue to attach frags to rocks. Maybe you could explain better what you are trying to do. It sounds like you have a hole in the tank already and want to add plumbing. Is this correct? If so a bulkhead would be the best bet to make a quality seal.

It is just a small drain and will not be under much pressure. I am trying to keep the hole as large as possible and by using a bulkhead or other type union that goes into the hole the diameter of the hole will get smaller.

I agree with the above, a bulkhead is the best way to go.

What size is the hole? What kind of flow are you trying to get?

low pressure or not, superglue is great for things that are porous, but glass isn't and the slightest bump will break the seal. Then you have to deal with the water cleanup if it fails... Worse case, make the hole bigger and se a bulkhead. Easier said than done.
