Plastic Mesh Screens?

I went to home depot and lowes trying to find a few things for a DIY idea that popped in. Only thing I could not find were some kind of plastic mesh screens. Gutter guard they had, but the holes are too big.

Have one more question ... Completely forgot which silicone tube is reef safe? Thanks!

Just make sure the silicone does not have the anti mold/bacterial in it. Are you talking about enkamat PF4 stuff for the mesh?

Gotcha! Do you happen to have some extra of that mesh? It does not matter really I just need something that has small holes.

If you are trying to keep a fish or something out, enkamat is is not what you need. If you are doing a meshmod on a skimmer, enkamat is what you need. For the keeping stuff out, you can go to the fabric section of walmart and look through the different types of netting. This is also the way we find out if you are truly a man. Menards usually has the Dap silicone for aquariums. If you go to Home Depot, get the GE1 Windows and doors. Make sure it doesn't have the bioseal logo on it. Then you will be all set.

For a padding, you can get 1" thick 100% polyester padding like you would use for a seat cushion at wal mart. You can get like a 18"x18" piece for like $4. The silicones with bio seal have a small circle logo on the front of the label. http://www.acehardware.com/largeImag...3-953166dt.jpg That is the one you are looking for.

Joe - Dang! You are completely on top of all this. That sounds like the perfect stuff I need. I was going to put a bunch of mesh stocked up and tie it with zip ties. The padding is all I need to have it set-up. I'm going to walmart first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the input everyone!

walmart has plastic mesh in the craft section. It's called frame mat or something like that. It's nylon mesh with about 1.5 mm holes. It's a semi rigid white plastic. 6 8.5 by 11 inch sheets are $4. I use it to stiffen up my polyester filter floss. BTW -If you use the walmart filter floss, get the morning glory brand that does have flame retardants.
