Mating mandarins

Hey I have a male stripped mandarin and a friend of mine want to get rid of his spotted female. So questions:

1. Will they be ok together ?
2. Will they mate?
3. Right now my 50g has plenty of pods so keep my 1 mandarin fat. 2nd one eats mycid shrimp. Will 2 survive in 50g tank (a lot of lve rock)

Thank you.

1. Probably. Sometimes males and females tussle on introduction, but they should work it out.
2. Doubtful.
3. You will very likely need to feed them. One (spotted) mandarin was maintaining weight in my 55 gal; after adding a female, pods were decimated in about 2 weeks. I now feed 3x/day.
