Faint brownish lesions are unlikely to be infectious and can have many causes (age, light, pregnancy, hormonal, medications, chronic edema to name a few). I imagine the topical cream is a steroid or antifungal (although there are some 'depigmenting' creams.........
I was thinking the same thing. From the description this doesn't sound like the kinds of things you would pick up in the tank. If he'd said it was all over his forearms I'd be more tempted to believe that.

reefrat, what it means is that he could have given you something that really did make the spots go away, but that doesn't necessarily mean the spots are due to the tank.

Ok folks, you sold this newbie on using gloves when working in both a FW and SW tank.

How do you clean and store these gloves after use? Do I need to somehow disinfect them or something?

Thanks for your time.

Cheers.

I wouldn't be too concerned with disinfection; most things would die when they dry out. Any punture through your gloves woht be sterile either. I guess theoretically it would benefit your tank a little to rinse them afterwards to elimanate any dead microorganisms - who needs extra nitrates (I dont think its that significant though).

Can I use the big yellow dish washing gloves or is there something in the plastic that will cause a problem?

My uncle got a good case of marine disease while fishing. He got stuck by a spine on a 4" sea bass and it got infected. He's been on antibiotics for about 6 weeks.

*edited for spelling (probably still wrong)

They are probably ok as long as they are new and have never been exposed to soap, but I prefer these:
