Hey, Juan, Great looking tank! Sorry I couldn't hang out and talk longer on Friday, I left the family at the food joint without a ride home. Hope that pump works out well for you. I'm going to have to check out pricing for my new tank with thoes guys.

That's an uber nice frag tank. Are you plumbing it into a display or is it a seperate system?

ok.... i need an opninion here

I just got my sump is a 50G Plexy tank open top, and it has a small divider, it will have live rock (currently i bought 40# but it was dry for few months) the tank (sump) is 36" long, should I drill the side to put a bulkhead and connect my MAG 12 external? or should I just set it inside the sump? I will be running also an EuroReef R6 and I don't want to get too hot the frag tank, since I don't have a chiller and it is on my garage

I've got the same size frag tank & I only use a Mag 7 internally for my return......Sump is a 40 Breeder & I also have a 15 gallon fuge................IMO I don't like a whole lotta flow thru the sump. I also run a ER 135 skimmer..............doesn't get to hot, however I have my AC set to turn on a fan over the tank @ 78. For flow in the tank, I use a Koralia 4..works great...Link to my setup..... http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...readid=1130055

Nice tank too!!! Not to be to nosey, but what did it set you back?

I want to knwo what type of wood u used? like 4x4s, 2x4, etc?
are u going to put the sump on very top of the stand or are u putting it somewhere else?

Thumbs up

I used 2x4 "Dry" Premium Quality, I wanted the wood to be as dry as posible to avoid warpage, and since the 2x4 I got were completely dry, onece I painted them I basically sealed them from the moisture.

I also used galvanized brakets, and deck screws (they are rust proof), and the 3/4" OAK for both levels, is better than plywood, I also used 1" foam insulation at the bottom of the tank and sump, to cushion them, as i don't want any strees points.

and finished the stand by painting it ULTRA WHITE ACRYLIC LATEX base 2 for EXTERIORS rolled and then SPRAYED (very messy )

I'm still working on the electrical, trying to decide where it fits better...
