Question Octo vs. Snowflake

New here,
I wanted to know if I could possibly put a baby O. bimaculoides (1" mantle) with my Snowflake Eel (approx. 8", 1/2" thick) and Chocolate Chip Starfish in my 45gal tank. The only outcome that I would fear in this situation would be the octopus being eaten/killed by the eel. I know that the star is neutral here. Would it work? Anybody have any experience with this? I don't mind losing the eel.

Thanks in advance.
Kevin

I don't think I've ever eaten a meal as expensive as the one that eel would have, then again, I am a student.

Even the empty 45 might be a little tight for a full grown bimac to live in. You might try it if you can move the eel, or admit that your compulsions control you and setup a bigger tank just for an octopus

Yea, I kinda thought that it wouldn't work, just figured I would ask.

But then again, these urges.......a 72 would fit just fine there, no there...and I could...lol, I wish I had the money to do that.

Some nice videos of what is likely to happen if they're in the same tank......

Cephalopods are thought to be pretty tasty in the marine world, - no bones all meat.

I had a snowflake for 10 years, and he seemed to love supermarket squid more than anything. I wouldn't try it.
