Octo vs. Snowflake
New here,
I wanted to know if I could possibly put a baby O. bimaculoides (1" mantle) with my Snowflake Eel (approx. 8", 1/2" thick) and Chocolate Chip Starfish in my 45gal tank. The only outcome that I would fear in this situation would be the octopus being eaten/killed by the eel. I know that the star is neutral here. Would it work? Anybody have any experience with this? I don't mind losing the eel. Thanks in advance. Kevin |

I don't think I've ever eaten a meal as expensive as the one that eel would have, then again, I am a student.
Even the empty 45 might be a little tight for a full grown bimac to live in. You might try it if you can move the eel, or admit that your compulsions control you and setup a bigger tank just for an octopus Dan |

Yea, I kinda thought that it wouldn't work, just figured I would ask.
But then again, these urges.......a 72 would fit just fine there, no there...and I could...lol, I wish I had the money to do that. |

Some nice videos of what is likely to happen if they're in the same tank...... Cephalopods are thought to be pretty tasty in the marine world, - no bones all meat. |

That poor Octo! It seems like they same one was being attacked by the same eel for 10 straight clips!...

I had a snowflake for 10 years, and he seemed to love supermarket squid more than anything. I wouldn't try it.
