What is This?

I noticed in my tank these balls. They are about 1/4" and most are white, there one that white with a green spot. They have never been there before but they are popping up around the tank. The tank is a fish only with about .5 watt per gallon. I am trying my best to get a good photo.

Does it look like this:

This is a harmless Scypha sponge. They are very small, and usually found in our overflow boxes and down in the sump. Attached to rock, glass or acrylic or even your plumbing, they may be about the size of a grain of rice or perhaps larger, like Debi's above. These little filter-feeders are reef-safe.

They are harmless. Miraculous things just show up in our tanks. I suspect they are always there, just need the right conditions to grow.
