MRC CA Reactor Users

I just setup my new MRC Calcium Reactor. I've got a question. Per the instructions. I bought a Mag 2 pump to recirculate water through the first chamber. It seems the the flow of the water from the Mag 2 into the top of the first chamber causes the top layer of media to get all churned up from the force of the water. Is this normal? Any MRC uses if this is right or wrong.

Thanks

I bought it from Aqua Direct. Andy has a few problems of his own right now.

Quite normal on these. I used an extremely thin sponge over the layer to stop it. Otherwise the rocks slowly chip and create a dust that turns into mud and clogs the reactor. Otherwise they sell a spraybar that runs the length if the chamber.

MRC is being sold to SouthEast Aquariums. I'm not sure how quickly it's happening, but Andy will have no involvement with MRC. I doubt he is available to answer questions right now anyway.
