open brain coral from japan

does anyone know wher i can get the open brains that come from Japan. I have been wanting one for along time but all my lfs told me they have seen or know of any brains that look like those...thanx for any info

they are hard to get, i PMed someone once, i think they got it from atlantis or reef exotics

thanks peecook...i knew they are hard to get...guess i am just going to have to keep looking hard....wish my lfs could find one...but for sure i will get one soon..

My Red Brain

I got this guy a few weeks ago at my LFS for $52. I mostly buy corals that I can frag but this one was well worth it. He is doing great.


They used to be called Wellsophyllia radiata but are now Trachyphyllia radiata.

I haven't seen any with the rainbow colors. I'm sure they are really hard to find. I would check out some online vendors located in CA.

I don't know anyone who has ever fragged a Trach. It's about 7in radius.
