Jets Away!!!

I couldn't resist posting this image. Sorry it is a bit fuzzy, but this female is quite quick and focusing on her is a nightmare.

I used two strobes. Unfortunately, to get enough light on the subject, they fired at almost maximum which means a longer flash duration an hence more blurring. Ideally when photographing an animal from this close moving quickly, I would like a flash duration of at least 1/20,000 sec. I'll keep trying with faster film and more powerful strobes. Someday I will get the shot I'm looking for.

Does the octopus notice and react to the strobes or does it all happen too quickly?

What size tank do you have that in? How long have you had it? what type of filtration do you have?
