Question Changing MH bulbs

I'll be getting 2 20k 250watt Helios bulbs(im only going to use 1) tomorrow and I was wondering if i should just change them and turn them on or is there steps i have to follow?

i hope not because ive just been pulling them out and swaping them out but ill be keeping an eye on this thread just in case

Just turn them on. If you are changing the color (kelvin) you might want to go easy on the time you run them for a while, but the bulbs are good to go. Its your inhabitants that might need a little acclimation not the bulbs.

So I just turn them on for a few hours(how many) and then increase every day?

In that case It really should not be to much of an issue , Just see how your corals react.

I think no steps. 14,000s are nice too.
