Which Octopus Xtreme skimmer

Which Octopus Xtreme skimmer would you guess is the right size for my 220 Fowlr with 30 gallon sump, Xtreme 200 or Xtreme 250?Thanks.

If you can afford it the 250 will be a great fit, but the 200 would work well. FOWLR's are generally large bioload's as the fish are fed alot.

I'm not sure if the 250 would fit in a 30g sump though as its 10" in diameter, so the footprint is going to be large, it may though.

I just heard from Rob @ marinesolutions. The extremes are due in this week. When he gets them he is going to post the footprint/size ratings on the website. He is also going to work out the recirc mods to see how all of that goes.

I hope he's going to post the operating depth too so I can get started on my sump/fuge without having to wait for my 250 to arrive. (hint hint if you're reading this Rob )

I would expect the Xtreme's to be in the same neighborhood as the others, about 10 inches of water.

We will know more once we actually get them in.

Rob, are you expecting a large shipment, do you expect that all the pre-orders will be fulfilled?

As you can see these are different from the ones on Marinesolutionsinc's page, I guess there so kind of legal battle going on between them and coralvue who makes all the octopus stuff the other retailers distribute.

Blankenship, thats a nice looking skimmer. Its not nearly the same as were all talking about but looks like it'll be a nice performer. Yours is pulling around 15scfh air and the extreme octo's were talking about pull around 50scfh.

FWIW, there's no legal battle, just lots of BS. Coralvue is an importer, not a manufacturer. SWC and Coralvue both import the octo's. Neither truly own the "OCTO" name. SWC gets the better skimmers, coralvue gets the one's you have. Which look nice, especially if you pull that junk venturi off and turn that 15scfh to 40 if its a octo3000 or 20-25 if its a oct2000.

BLANKENSHIP76-

Looks like a nice skimmer. You will have to let us all know what you think of it once it breaks in.

I have an ATI on my main display, this is simply for my frag tank. We'll see how it does, how would you go about modding this venturi, I have enkamat here from an old mod on an ASM.

Also this is the TS model, the PS model looks like a regular skimmer not the Aqua Euro pictured above or the one I have.

Jason

this one was like 10 bucks more for some reason??
