when i first set up a 180g, i use a blueline 55 hd, 1100gph.
since i run 3 tanks, a friend give me a big pump (not aquarium pump),i don't know the flow rate, very strong i can tell, but create a lot of tinny bubble.that 's why i think about a new pump

If you go with 5x turnover through each tank you would need about 1200 gph after head losses. You can use theRC Calc to put in your plumbing configuration and then go through the pumps to see which one gives you 1200 gph. The blueline, iwaki, little giant, sequence, and velocity pumps are all good externals of varying noise levels

to give a pump recommendation we need to know operating head of the pump (make sure to include friction loss) and the capacity of your drains/overflows.
If a Blueline 55 wasn't enough GPH you'll need something like a 70 or 100.
