Prizm Skimmers

I went to my LFS yesterday and saw a nice prizm skimmer for 300gal. It was at a nice price about $220. I like how the skimmer is not too big. Are these good skimmers? They guy there told me they are pretty good and that he has one and he thinks its better than the Coralife SS.
I was planning on doing a reef tank in the 120gal but all the fish I like are not reef safe so ive decided to go with a fowlr set-up.

the prizm completes the trifecta of crappy skimmers along with the skilter and seaclone. you'll probably be happier with the SS.

I bought the 300 gallon prizm skimmer and the only good thing I can say is thank Gawd I got it from foster & Smith and was able to return it for a full refund.

Coralife is a fairly good skimmer in the low end price range, I would stay away from the prizm. *period*

The HOB prizm that I have on my 75g works very well. I like how easy it is to adjust the flow rate. The only thing I dont like about it is that it has a small collection cup, but I was thinking of modding it to have a line going to a larger collection bucket.

The Prizm semi-works, but in no way would it be effective on a 300 gallon system. Maybe 55 tops.

I had an older style prizm on an old 33 gallon tank I had, and it did okay. It was a HOB model, and my only real complaint was the lack of surface skimming at the time. I think the newer models address that.

I wouldn't have run it on a larger size tank, though. 300 gallons is a pipe dream.
