Toadstool Help/Advice
I am new to the hobby and my 75 Gallon just got done cycling. We did a water test at my local marine specialist who does a lot of coral business and I was given the green light to tackle an entry level corral
I run Current USA 150WX2 MH (14k). The coral was placed on the bottom of the tank. I was told this was OK. The corral has been in the tank 72 hours and I just noticed that some of the tentacles are not extending with their white tips. The retracted tentacles and have a black or white spot. Should I be concerned? Does anyone know why this is happening? I have posted the pic in my gallery. I very much look forward to the replies. Thanks, Chris |

It looks normal to me. It takes some time for toadstools, and most corals for that matter, to acclimate and fully extend their polyps. Just give it some more time and see how it goes.
Can you list your water params?

Toadstool Advice
Great. That makes me feel better. I will do a water test tonight and get them up here. I have a basic marine test lab kit. Is there any specific params that you need to keep an eye on for corals that would be any different from my usual water tests?
I was just concerned about those little black spots and the retraction of the tentacles but I was optimistic that it may just take some adjusting before mr T. shows his self thanks again and I will get that data up here ASAP. |

How do you think I laid out my tank? I am hoping as I start introducing corals it will fill out a great deal as the corals grow. I tried to leave room in the front and the back of the tank for cleaning purposes. I appreciate the feedback. The pics in the gallery. |

Tank look great. Rock work looks good with lots of room like you said. That's my biggest problem with all my rock, finding a place for new additions! I'm not sure about the black stuff, although mine gets dark tentacles from time to time. Not really black, just dark.
