Seriously though,

I read an article comparing the new Z06, and it out performed the Viper in almost every test.
I don't like the looks of the new corvette, I think they ruined it. From the front it looks like a porcupine puffer, you know the smiley mouth grille
and open headlights, give it that look. Whoever or whatever design group that came up with that mouth, should take a beating and be blackballed from automotive design for life. Fathomer he should be made to work as a greeter at Wal-Mart for at least 30 years.

Anyway, I have read that a Z06 would make a much better daily driver than the Viper. Well I wouldn't use it as a daily driver and I think it's probably the best looking American sports car, and is a brute to drive, bring it on. I have only seen 2 of them up close and they are just awesome to behold. I wouldn't care, I would choose a Viper over any car under 100K that I'm aware of.

I think I'd take any car for $100k, then sell it & buy 2 new cars & go on a really nice vacation

If you have to keep the car the I'd have to be much more practical, as I don't think I could afford the insurance to drive a car worth $100k - but I may be wrong

And as far as high performance I wouldn't want to be putting $100 a week in gas into a car

So the new Lexus Hybrid RX 400h fully loaded would work
or possibly the Toyota Highlander Hybrid

C5 Corvettes average 30MPG at around 55-70MPH on the highway. That is on a stock one. If you keep out of the pedal too much you can get 17-18MPG around town.
That's what we get when my wife drives. When I drive those numbers drop by about 3MPG. Our Corvette is strictly a toy, only about 3,000 miles a year. So I actually only fill up around once a month, but it has to be at least 93 octane.

RX-7 type R (none of this RX-8 crap) with the triple rotor 20b, then build it up from there.

The RX-8 looks like the front fenders belong on a PT Cruiser. They just don't match the rest of the car. Another design team that spent too much time smoking them funny cigarettes.

I was 17 when I owned this 69 Charger 500, Hemi. Only 500 of them made that year.

Agreed, though I dont hate the 8, it deffinitly lacks the power that the 7 had.

That M3 will cost you about $250,000. But I'm sure you just meant the M3 coupe and not the CSL.

Pshhh, you car folk'. When this bike is out, I would love to get it. A Ducati Superbike 999R Xerox, comes out in Jan 06 (next month 8D). Change some of the gear and chain ratios and that thing will be godly. Starts at only 33k too. So I can have 2 of them with money left to buy a town car . Heres a pic of the beautiful piece of machine:

BMW, M3 coupe with as many filthy things that they can put into it as possible. Then I would add my own touches.

Final Project would look like this

As an FYI. I am not a car person, but I am slowly moving up my favorite car chain.. VW, Audi, BMW.... Right now VW GTI

At the risk of being flamed, I think the 8 is rather attractive, at least in comparison to all the other crap out there (although at least the new Mustangs look less like "daddy's girl" cars). I'm very glad that Mazda is keeping the rotary legacy alive.

I hear rumors that they're considering adding a tiny single-rotor "sustainer" engine that would sit ahead of the Renesis in future models with a driveshaft running through the eccentric shaft of the main engine (nestled inside like the different stage shafts of a jet engine). The idea being that at highway speeds you could shut off the main engine and get 35 mpg.

I wont disagree there, I do in fact like the looks of the 8, but the low end power just isn't what "I" think it should be at but its still a nice car. I heard the same rumors as well, and I think that would be a great idea. I also heard that possibly in the future the mx-5 miata would be equiped with the Renesis rotary, but maybe thats only the mazda speed models im not sure.

Dodge Viper. Nothing like the rumble of a V10.

But on the other hand, I could build a really nice custom Harley of my own design and still have a few bucks left over.

Or I could build a really sweet AC Cobra replia-car that would out handle/out run anything that's been shown here and still have money left to fill the tank.

Pfft. If you're going for a V10, you might as well get one that screams instead of just rumbling:

Yea but I want one with $exy lines and good looks. I've yet to see a BMW that fits that bill.

To each his own. I guess this is why some people own pitbulls and others own greyhounds. I'm definitely on the grey side of the fence!
