642642 180G In-wall
Well I finally got around to putting the tank back up. The wall that it is going into sits between the living room and the garage.
Living room Garage I concern about the stand, instead of the tank sitting on the back of the stand its going to sit where the blue line is. The gaps are 16in wide. Theres going to be either 3/8 or 1/2in thick plywood between the tank and the stand. My question is do you think ill need to add extra support between the gaps? I had plans of building a sump that takes up every bit of room under the tank. |

i would do 3/4 ply for the extra strength. Should be fine.

I would like to go bigger but when I made the cut to the wall I only gave it a half inch more room (tank measures 25.5 tall cut is 26) So do you think 3/8 plywood would work?

Today I put the tank on the stand, put the trim up, and hung the lights. Everything turned out pretty nicely I think. All that is left to do is: hang the RO/DI machine, build the sump, clean the front of the tank and start adding the water once UPS drops off my IO salt.

I used Rust-Oleum (high performance enamel) Sticks well to glass and fast drying.

Looks like a neat setup. Do you think the lights from the tank will cause a glare on the tv? I have a window on the opposite wall from my tv and when the sun is blaring, it causes a heck a glare and hard to see the screen sometimes (especially on video games).

Is that yellow water line in your tank the waste-water line from you RO/DI?

I agree NexDog, I think im going to order another 50+ after Christmas.
Yes that is the waste water line from the RO/DI. I was pluging in the light, pumps, etc so i just put the lines in there to get them out of the way. (The wife snap these pictures before I took them out) No waste water was pumped into the tank. |

Nice setup....where did you get the stand from ?

I had the stand built at Southeastern construction in Mulberry, FL. I use to work there so I got it made for a pretty good price.

Here an update picture of what the tank looks like. This picture was taken with the garage door open and no lights. I think it looks pretty good this way
The only thing left to do is hook up the skimmer but Im waiting on the parts to do the recirc mod. |
