Thanks Barb.
People keep saying congrats to me....this is for the club and to highlight the club, not for me. Believe me...its quite stressful to have your house invaded by a couple of photographers and a reporter....at 24 hrs notice. Add to that the fact you pretty much need to take the day off since they are always running late...which was true once again. And while thats stressful in and of itself...Imagine what it would be like to have the extra burden of the fact that a few days before one of the overflows on the tank back split a seam from top to bottom. So.......no water flow through the tank...plenty across the floor though. Did anyone notice the hood wasnt on the tank? That was because the water had to be lowered several inches (in fact the tank did that part itself due to the split overflow)... The reason there were frags in the tank (80+ on the tank bottom) was due to me having to prune all the corals that were out of the water the night before the crew came by so that I could have the lights on for them to see the tank. (I wasnt running lights to prevent the corals from drying up that were out of the water- you lay paper towels over them and they stay moist and survive quite a few days). Since then I have had new overflows fitted and the tank is again running, but it looks like my highest corals have had a buzz cut.... Anyways....in all honesty, its not me but the club as a whole and all of those people that have contributed to the frag program that made that article work. Its all about the conservation aspects of the donor program and the role COMAS plays....my tank just provided the picture. Sorry I had to be in it. P.

Just curious who built the tank? Overflow splitting a seam? I know the tank is relatively new and I wouldn't think that would happen for years to come.

The tank is actually over 2 years old- how time flies. The acrylic on the overflow was defective, kind of a flukey thing....you could see it was "flaking" like it was made of lots of thin laminates, and the glue bonded the outer layer.
When it split it sounded like gunfire it had built up that much internal tension. It actually curled back on itself, and it was 3/8 material. I have never seen acrylic do that before. Paul.
