Some Pictures of Our 75 gal Aquarium

Here are a few pictures from our 75 gal aquarium. It is devoted to LPS and Soft Corals and has been setup for just over 6 years now.

This is a Brain that was the first coral we purchased over 6 years ago.

I love tanks where you can't see any live rock anymore. Awesome!

I am using the Current Power Compacts 6700K/10,00K & Actinic 03/7100K for nine hours a day with moon lights for 5 hours each night.

Thanks for the info on the lights. I have PC's on my 75 and from all the info I was reading, it didn't sound like I was able to keep much.

I feel that I can put just about any LPS or Soft Coral into this tank with the existing lighting without any problems. Have not tried any SPS and don’t really plan too. Would like to add more Zoo’s to this tank at some point.

Stunning tank. Great work. Can we get more info in regards to husbandry (e.g. water flow, carbon, dosing, etc.)?

Here is some tank info:

The tank is connected to a 25 gal Refugium with caulerpa algae with Miracle Mud and a Little Giant pump that returns the water back into the tank. Also have 3 MaxJet1200 pump connected to Red Sea Wavemaker Pro for circulation inside the tank. To maintain the calcium and Alk I drip kalkwasser 24/7 and in addition I add EVS B-Ionic two part Calcium/Alk everyday. Also add EVS- B-Ionic magnesium once a week or when test indicates that it needs some. I don’t use carbon in the tank and use an AquaC Remora skimmer hung on the back of the tank. I do a 15 gal water change every two weeks and currently using Red Sea Pro salt after switching from RC. Also use a JBJ Auto Top Off system connected to a MJ1200 pump in a 25 gal storage tank with RO/DI water.

The water parameters are:

8.09/8.20 PH (night/day)
9.0 ` KH
420 CA
1350 MG
1.025 SP

Would like to add a larger Refugium and a Calcium Reactor in the future.

Excellent pics nice tank!
To CedarReefer,
I too have a 75g mixed reef that I really enjoy. I've got mine under 240watts of normal output fluorescent lighting, and I'm keeping ~30 different species of coral.

I change my bulbs every 12 months or so.

Washingtond,
I love that Fox Coral. I had one early on (3 years ago) and lost it...one of the few losses I've had. How long have you had yours?
Looks like you've got a branching hammer too, and that it's like mine in that it doesn't mind being in the same tank with leather corals.

We got the Fox Coral just little over a year ago and it is doing great. The branching Hammer we got 4 years ago as a frag with only seven heads on it. Since then I have fragged it 5 times giving and selling them to other members of our club in the Dallas area. The two Hammers that are in the tank are from those frags as well. As you can see the tank is very crowded with both Leathers and LPS corals but everything seems to be getting along. The main problem that I am having is with the Red Mushrooms which pop up everywhere and I am constantly pulling out they will sting whatever they touch.

Those two tanks look great. I am setting up a 60g under 288watts of P.C. I am excited to see what I can do. I to didn't think I would be able to get much in the way of corals.

Here are some shots of the Ecosystem refugium with “Miracle Mud” and Caulerpa algae. The fuge contains also contains two float switches for the Auto Top Off and Kalk drip. The light is on 24/7 and the algae must be cut back every three weeks.

Here is my Mangrove growing under the stand. I am planning on adding another light just for it.

Here is one of the thousand’s of Pods in the refugium.
