I checked the Royal-exclusiv website--the Bubble-King 650-external-is 4,950Euro's ~$6,500. It's not the same as Aquaconnect skimmers. Bob

Very true, but how many ER CS 8-3 can you buy for $6,500?

I wish I had the $6,500 to burn though, I bet they are cool.

well you would need 3 ER CS 12 - 6 800 G each and they cost $2000 each to get the same Gallon as one Bubble-King 650

I guess the extra $500 is worth it for the 650Bubble King for the fact that it would take up less room in your sump than 3 ER CS 12-6's.

I just want a Bubble King pump for a DIY skimmer. Massive air/water and low watts...

Why did I pick such an expensive hobbie, oh yeah, I needed something to relax me after a motocross race. Good thing watching fish is peaceful.

was looking at the bubble king needle wheel picture on their site and it looks like the pins are Titanium.

So maybe this helps account for the cost, as the pumps alone start at 700+ euro, and with Titanium pins they could spin the pump up to stupid RPMS without the pins bending outwards.

Also i doubt you will be chaning a needle wheel for a very long time.

Aquaconnect also use these pumps and most of their kit i have used is very very high quality.

I just found this thread and thank you to everyone who wrote in. What an interesting read.

I have three VIDEOS I took at the Interzoo 2004 trade show with my digi cam. I don't have a web page to put them on to link them to, does anyone know how I can pull off a single frame and post it as if it was a plain old picture? The files are in the AVI format.

Ok so I just read my post, and I forgot to mention that they are videos of a bubble king skimmer. The model was rated at 1500l/h of air intake. One video is of the titanium needle. The guy in the video who was explaining why titanium and claims it produces finer bubbles.

That pic is awesome. the vids I referred to before are 14 meg and 15 meg each. They are videos of the titanium impeller and then one of the skimmer itself. Both are dry/not running on a tank, but it will get you a good look at the skimmer and the impeller.

I think that there is no different between the Deletec to H&S or to the euroreef because all of them are using the needle patent. The needles skimmers are good, quite and energy severs if you comper tham to the HSA that works better but with a large pump end make noice you preefer the needke pattent.

needle wheels

firstly the needle wheels between the H&S, Deltec and euro reef are different from one another , therefore the difference in skimming is partly due to that. Has anybody compared the H&S or Deltec to the bubble king ? bernie lyons

Bernie, good question as the Bubble-King has only been on the German market a few months. I doubt ther is even one B-K on the continental N.Americas at this time. Klaus Jansen owner of Royal exclusiv[Bubble-King] is sending a skimmer to be shown during MACNA, at the ZEOvit display. Bob

Whats up Alberto

My uncle predicts that soon, everyone in the U.S. will be enamored with needle-wheels and everyone in Europe will be in love with Becket injectors. Haha. Me? I'm in love with that $6000 Deltec they had at MACNA I didnt see anything about the Bubble King at MACNA(nor a ZEO-vit booth, haha. They woulda needed armed guards at that one)

Just out of interest NAGA

The skimmer that you bought in Europe must be the wrong voltage as they run on 230V therefore it will not work.

???
