Need a good list

Im working on my 75 gallon. It has a been a fowlr but I am making it a BB reef. Right now im going to let the tank sit for 6-7 weeks befor adding fish. I have 2- 1'' true perculas in a hopistal tank for now. Can anyone build off of those 2 clowns and give me a good list? All fish need to be able to kept in a mixed reef. I want some colorful fish. Maybe 5-7 chromis.

What do you think about this list?

2- perculas
5- green chromis
1- royal gramma
1- yellow tang

reef safe wrasses such as all the fairy wrasses, halichores wrasses like the green wrasse and the yellow coris are awesome additions. Gobys are also neat, like fire fish, vanuatu gobies, bar gobies etc. Check out scott michaels guide to marine fishes for more suggestions. I think any beginning aquarist should have it.

In a tank that size I would skip the tang and chromis, the tang will ultimately outgrow a 75 and the chromis will end up as a pair that will kill the others. I like the idea of a pair or harem of fairy or flasher wrasse and they are a lot more colorful than chromis as well. If you are looking for a herbavore I would look at a bicolor or lawnmower blenny and a prawn goby/shrimp pair would be a cool addition in a 75.

Agree with Kahuna - chromis will end up as a pair. If you are looking for mild mannered damsels, check out ones from the pomacentrus genus (see scott michael or liveaquaria.com), they are brilliantly colored and some stay very small

The coral beauties, IMO, tend to look great up close but when you step back from the tank make less gorgeous of a display than say a flame or Herald's angel

In addtion to yout total list - why not add a pair of black striped high fin blennies with their commensal shrimp? They make a cool display, barely add to the bioload & hang out on the bottom.

I bought my pair by observing them at the LFS (rather than paying more for an already paired up couple) After some observation, it became clear which fish were "simpatico" - Bought the shrimp at a different LFS
