The wet dry may help in the future but wait on it. Get enough LS and LR with proper flow and a skimmer then your fine for awile.

demon why wouldnt you just put a sump/fuge in, cheaper and less maintanance than a wet/dry, plus it works like a hundered times better.

what kind of lights do you have now? lighting is very important, as is flow. You'll want a good amount of flow for a 90gal, maybe someone with a 90 can chime in with what they think.

A rufugium is the best way. But for a new tank and to do it right just start with the basics. Whene you have that down then procced with add ons. I would not use a wet dry myself. And useing and considering one is actually jumping ahead of yourself.
Just get the basics right with LR,LS , flow , cuc and water source and changes woth watching your water readings. Then after you have this down with a few coral and fish come back and thread
" tanks doing great and i want to go next step, any reccomendations?" or something like that.

Not a domg question unless you have a running tank with coral and fish.
LR=live rock
LS = live sand or sandbase

More info would help.
Tank size?
and what are you wanting to keep in this tank?
What type of equipment do you have?

This was my 90 gal at 3 months old with 2 X 250 MH with Tunze power heads and a good skimmer in a stanard sump. When you start on the right foot and don't cut corners to much your tank can take off fast......You really have to invest in this hobby to get a good return !!!!

I am also trying to start out and at the moment collecting equipment for my tank. You guys mention good flow. This is where I am right now. I was dead set on the Vortechs but stumble upon the acrylic/ high temperature deal in the forums. So, last night I started looking at the wave box. I notice the wave box just makes a natural left and right current within the tank on youtube. In a reef tank I read where you needed about 54X turn over in the tank. If I got the wave box do I still need powerheads for additional flow. My tank is a 90 gal.
