angel compatibility
Would an already established rock beauty get along with a french angel in a 110gl with 150lbs of live rock?
Thanks, Carson |

Well thats tough to say for sure.
The Rock is a Holacanthus and is very shy The French is a Pomacanthus and will grow much larger. If your Rock is out all the time and doing well, the addition of the French may cause it to become inhibited and could possibly hide most of the time. Rocks do not tolerate aggresive fish very well. I would put the French in that catagory as well as any trigger. But, sometimes if each fish has its own place to sleep and its own territory, it might work. Trial and error here but if your rock is doing well I think it's not such a good idea. |

If the French isn't too big yet, it might be worth a shot.

not in that small of a tank...i dont think it would work at all except if you got a juvi french and then it would only be "okay" for a little while.Angels get very territorial and a french gets way to big for a 110.I had one in a 120 and he was the boss of the tank and he got way to big for the tank and way to aggressive. If you had a 180 or over i would say go for it..but no way in 110 will that work long term....RB's are so hard to keep why risk a nice healthy one with another adult angel that is going to get bigger faster and beat up on your RB....bad move...to small of a tank to begin with...

I agree rock beautys are a very very tough fish to keep in the home aquarium. I wouldnt chance adding a french in there. they are quite bold fish and might end up really affecting things in a bad way for the rock beauty

I've decided to wait on the french for now but larger rock beautys are very hardy fish I've owned two adults and they have done great but juveniles usually perish but I do agree frenchys are very bold that's why I was curious about compatibility.
