Crocea Clam Questions
Some questions:
1) What is some of the required suppliments (Ca, Sr, and I?) 2) Has anyone had them survive under 4x65w PC's for longer than 6 months, in a 55 gal tank? (I KNOW MH are the best so dont need to be told that I just want to know about PC's), obviously high up in the tank, on rock work. 3) Is there any compatibility issues with this and anything else? |

1. - Steady high CA and ALK. Stead SG and PH.
2. - I've never seen it done successfully. I saw a beautiful tank with 4X65s try a few maximas and they all bought it for what it's worth. I tried lower light clams (squamosa) under 3X55w in my old 15 gallon short tank. He wasn't very happy. Didn't die, but wasn't happy until I switched those out for a MH bulb. 3. - Many fish can be clam nippers, mostly angels, blennies, an odd tang, etc. Any non reef safe invert is bad news for clams too. |
