If the tank is still cycling, the amonia will drop as it cycles. If it's not still cycling:

Do water changes
Remove any dead or decaying things from the tank
You can also dose Amquel. I believe that the Amquel only neutralizes it so that it's not toxic, but if you have anything in the tank, you may want to add the Amquel to keep it safe.

what do you all have in the tank? the ammonia is comming from somewhere. for now use amaquil+ or prime to lower it.

what is your filtration like? what kind of fish? how big and how many? how much do you feed? basically tell us about your setup.

More importantly than removing ammonia is to find out why you have ammonia. In general, you need to test for nitrite whenever you see ammonia greater than zero. You may have to large a bioload on this tank.

Relatively harmless to fish but not desireable for corals. Also if you have nitrite then you know your tank is processing ammonia to the next step nitrate and then free and harmless nitrogen.
