Plumbing Pump to Sump - Distance

Hello gang. I have a quick question where I would like the benefit of others that have done more of this than I have. I am plumbing a Panworld return pump from my sump back to the tank. I am aware that I need the water level of the sump return to be higher than the inlet of the pump. Been there done that. The question is, how far from the sump bulkhead can the pump be in order to operate effectively? Can I have say 12-14 inches of straight pvc leading to the pump inlet without putting undue strain on the pump and still get the proper flow to the pump? Hope that makes sense. I apprecate the help. I would hate to burn up a pump prematurly.

12-14 inches is nothing to worry about, its when you start running the plumbing through walls and adding alot of elbows and tees into the sitiuation. i'm not too familiar with that pump, but it should tell you the lenght to power ratio on the box or web site or something but anything that close or even several of feet shouldn't matter.
