Did i murder my Maxima

I have a 4" maxima doing very well. However it was well attached to a large ugly rock. I was not able to get to the underside of the rock so i went to break it up. I just took 3 taps with the hammer and chisel (4 in away from the clam) and the clam fell off the rock onto the floor. Just some clear slimmy stuff left on the rock. The clam is back in the tank and is already starting to open up. (45 min.) Will it survive of not. JOE

it should be ok so long as you didnt hit the actual clam or sever its byssal threads but it didnt sound like you did either so just keep an eye on it and it should be ok.
