Okay, i just realized, i have a 30 gallon hex in my basement. Could that possibly be used for a sump? It could be a huge fuge. what is the difference between a fuge and a sump?

The LFS I frequent (too often) has just plumbed two 75 Gal. tanks together for a sump. It is under 2 fish systems with many levels and little tanks. The owner has the 75s drilled on the sides at the bottom (2 holes per tank). He then used PVC pipe and unions to connect the two tanks. This way he uses one pump and skimmer for the system. It's a nice set-up but way too labor intensive for 1 tank at home. IMO
As far drilling a filled tank, I wouldn't try it. Too risky. Again, IMO.
