sump baffle question

I have sump currently running that contains no baffles. Just one large tank that fluxes with evaperation. I currently run an ato system but the water level still fluxuates. I purchased an acrylic sheet at Ace and now need the proper bonding agent.

What do you suggest for a system currently in operation? I can give it 24hrs dry time.

thanks.

If it is an acrylic tank, you will need weld-on or something similar. If the tank is glass, a nice bead of silicone on both sides will hold the acrylic in place.

if you don't want to take the sump offline, I recall seeing a page where somebody cut the baffles 1/4 small and then used EPDM weatherstriping on the edges to make 'movable baffles'. Since a baffle just directs the majority of the waterflow it most likely does not matter if a tiny amount of water leaks, although it won't leak to any significant degree if you do it tightly.

Do the pressure lock baffles work? It looks like a good idea. Can the correct weather stripping be commonly found?

Acrylic to Acrylic: I used epocky from Wally world, it was the one where the straw mixed it for you. All you had to do was push the syringe.

I also sealed around it with GE Silcone I

I bought mine online thinking it would be hard to find, but I saw a bunch of EPDM right next to all the other weatherstriping at lowes when I just went.

I think I'm going to make a divider wall for my refugium. Its a dedicated 50gal so I wasn't originally planning any baffles (just a standpipe and perhaps some eggcrate around it), but now I think i'll make a baffle with overflow teeth to keep most of the macroalgae in check.
