How do you plumb your fuge and sump?
After the latest overflow box overflowing all over the floor (and me out of the country). I'm ready to completely re-do my plumbing. I have a 90 gal w/ 30 gal fuge, and I'm going to add a 10 gal sump for my new Euro 135 skimmer. I'm planning to do a full length Calfo overflow box with 3 - 1" bulkheads. (That Calfo thread is awesome).
That's where I'm stuck. Any ideas would be very helpful. So my questions are... 1. Should I use some type of manifold? 2. Do you run your fuge/sump in series or parallel? 3. If in series which one is first in line? 4. How do you connect the two? Both have to go under the main tank. I have some vertical room to play with, so maybe I could elevate the one and gravity feed the other... I plan on drilling the sump for an external pump (Iwaki 40 RLT?) to a return manifold. What do you guys think? |
