Hmm Is there any harm when a Powerhead burns out?

Well, I am curious and I am wondering, if someone does a over mesh and causes the pump not move. And it burned out in the tank is there any harm like electricity or something entering the tank?

i had a return power head FRY! once. i heard bubbles and then no flow or lights. it was in a chiclid tank and nothing died.

If the plastic melted and the copper wiring got exposed you might have an issue other wise I doubt you will have a problem.
Just in case you can run some carb on in the system.

Thanks for the info guys, I am going to mesh a powerhead and I am a little paranoid about it going stuck and dieing.
