You will get a little noise through a Durso (Megaflow), but it shouldn't be as loud as a toilet!. How much flow are you running through them?

Mine was loud as well, I turned back the throughput and it quited right down, only pushing 150-200 thought it. Seems to work great and is very quiet.

I have used the "All Glass" Durso and a hand made durso. The hand made one with the correct size hole for the flow was the quietest.

Hope it helps..

I am using the All Glass Megaflow with a Mag 9.5 on a 75 gallon. To quiet it down you will need to allow it to recieve more air. Either enlarge the whole at the top, or drill additional similiar size holes in the top.....Don't go crazy....Just add a whole and then watch and listen. YOu will know when you hit the sweet spot.

I have a 125 with dual overflows and the dorso's came with the setup they are not home made. The set up came with a mag 12 for the return pump. I have tried 900 GPH and it gurgles as well unless I slow it way down maybe 300-400 GPH thru the sump ???

Maybe its time to get the drill out !

3-400 would work fine i would think, it it will also allow for more skimmer contact time as well.

I understand 3-400 is ok but I would like to have flow more say 6-700 because I have a 75 gallon sump.

I have a 100G open sump, as well. I run a powerhead in it for additional ciculation. Having a higher thoughput though your sump adds no real value IMO. Contact time with your skimmer is more important.

Is it true that the futher down you push the dorso tube the more water it will flow ?

Is there any info around about set up mega flow system ? Like the finer points of adjustments ?
