Have you built a fuge w/ acrylic?

When I was in the boy scouts we made pic. frames out of plexi-glass. We took a streight piece of wire streached it tight and hooked it to a battery. This got it hot. Then we held the plexi-glass in front of the wire, got it hot, and bent it.
(I'm sure you all have seen these little pic. frames at wal-mart)

Ok so here is my question, Could you do this when building a fuge? It would not crack or have stress lines in it from bending.
I dont know why my sump or any I've seen are always built with single panes glued together.

Anyone built a fuge like this?

Lucky

Easier just to glue it IMO. Gluing together acrylic is pretty easy IME.

If you know exactly what your doing it could work but even the professional builders glue them.

Yeah, My display and sump are both glued. I am in the fisrt steps of building a 2x2 cube for a fuge Def. going with acrylic. But trying to save money (I don't have any clamps) has brought me to this Idea.

use tape to hold your edges together(masking or painters tape), use 2x4's to hold them in place. a cheap solution to clamps!
