Beginner Mushrooms
Hey everyone, Im sure you see posts like this all the time, so I apologize, but I am looking to move my FOWLR into a reef system. I am running down to the LFS this weekend to pick up some soft corals, as I only have about 130 watts of pc lighting over a 28g Bowfront tank. I was wondering if any of you have some recommendations on species that would be hardier than most and still decently colorful.
I have decided on getting a few Mushroom frags, and a couple zooanthids but no idea what species or genus I should be looking into. The guys at the store are great, and know a ton. So even basic recommendations would be awesome, and we can work from there. I appreciate your time. -Luke |

Here are two pictures of my tank took in different day.
Discosoma mushrooms are easy and lots of them are colorful especially under actinic lights. |

What kind of lighting are you using to make the colors "pop" like that?

I started with green striped mushrooms. They've been very hardy for me. Most of the "regular" Discosoma mushrooms would be fine. Go for whatever looks healthy, and isn't too expensive.

My tank is a custom made back sump tank. The total size is 60cm(L)x40cm(H)x55cm(W). The back sump's width is 12cm. The main you saw is 60cm(L)x40cm(H)x41cm(W).
