wow tank looks full already lol. i would definately do something about your overflow tube. get one of those filtersock holders that hooks onto the side of the tank n the drain tube is attaches. how are you liking the deltec? when i do decide to setup my dream system (when i grow up move outa mommys house lol) ima go the pendant rimless look too. i'd go with a vortec if i were you(thats what ima do w the dream) for two reasons: heat might be an issue with this setup down the road and y would you want any wires going over that beautiful glass edge of yours? it wouldn't make sence to me to get rimless and pendant just to have wires and what not ruining what you worked (and paid) so hard/ much for?

Thanks Nick,
That is a good idea about the filter sock holder, i might put one on, but I really am not a big fan of filter socks. I used to have 5 of them and change them out every week, then wash them at the end of the month. But it seems as though they never get as clean as the original. The skimmer is still being adjusted, I just put it in last night, and I am still fiddling with the water level. It worked awesome on my 150g when I was breaking it in/testing it out. I have been looking at the vortec, but am not sure where I would put it. It will probably end up going in there, only because I love to play with new equipment. I am selling my tunzes so I will need something else to play with. Keep saving, and get a good job. I started on SW on my freshman year of HS, now I am a sophomore in college. I have had my 150g since junior year in HS. I got by using ALL used equipment off of RC, and trade with a lot of people. Make friends with people at the LFS, it will help you in the long run, even if they are obnoxious. Thanks for the reply, and good luck with |

Jim, that FTS pic looks great... where did you get that modern, pedestal-style aquarium stand :-)
Fantastic progress... looks just like all those posts of Japanese rimless, braceless aquariums. You mentioned you had the Deltec running on your 150G... how did it compare to the skimmer you had running at the time? |

LOL.......everyone asks me where I got the stand from.
The Deltec was ran on the opposite end of my sump(near return pump) and it was second inline to my mesh-modded G-3. It would skim a little, but the g-3 got most of it. When I turned the G-3 off it started pulling out alot. I still have not figured out the perfect adjustment, but I am getting there. I just need to be patient, its tough to just sit and wait. |

any updates?
Are you running just the closed loop for water movement? Is that enough movement for all your SPS? |

I was thinking the same... the picture with just the rocks and the picture with all the corals in it..... took me by surprise... Looks great!
If you don't have enough flow, perhaps you can seek in nanostream 6025. If want more, you can always mod it too. Keep up the good work.

Such a nice tank! How are the corals doing?
I would suggest a Vortech hidden in the back or side on pulse mode to help you get some extra flow if needed.

I thought that ADA tanks were tempered? Is that just the smaller ones?

Hey guys I have added a few new things to the tank....and I have taken a few things out.
s0hcsleeper......The closed loop is not in use. I have added a sureflo maximod and that provides all of the filtration. The closed loop would have been enough but the pump was leaking and i needed the space for an ATO eagleONE.....I used to use all tunze equipment, now I am trying new things. The Sureflo 1600 is just as good as my streams used to be. uchiha.... no room for vortech...already tried. GrandeGixxer....not sure, maybe the guy I got it from had it custom made. mg426.....THANKS InvaderJim....this was a downgrade from my 150g, I am going away to school soon. fisheebill....THANKS |

Great tank, I'm thinking of doing an ADA 90P reef ready tank which is the same dimensions as yours.
You never did say where you got the stand from... (PM me if it's a secret) Thanks! |
