yup, it's the 34g one! put in new sand and 15 pounds of dry rock. I want to keep as many pests out of this one as possible, so after the new year, I am going to order 25 lbs. of shelf rock and another 25 lbs. box of small rock from Marco rocks. I did add 1 cup of my sand from my 125g to help with cycle but thats it.

Now I just need to figure out what to put in it

Dan, just watch out for temps on that thing. I was going to buy it origally but opted for a cube due to temp issues. But if your not upgrading your light, you should be good. its a beautiful tank though. Did you get silver or black.

Got the silver one that Chris had at Aquatic Central. So far my temp is stable so I think it should be ok. The only downside is they just started installing new more powerful fans that were quieter....I got the old version

Got a $50 gift certificate for AAF.

And on Christmas Eve my wife and I bought her a Longhorn Cowfish!!

We pick it up today at 11:00.

I bought her a little cube that was hers, and since cowfish can wipe a tank, it will be in its own little system.

I also bought myself an arrow crab. (Does it count as Reef Santa if I buy it for myself?)

very cool! cowfish get over a foot long and wide right? It'd need a bigger tank soon.

Geez I hope I don't ever have to name a kid, b/c naming this dog has kept me up for the past 2 nights

The g/f says it's either Clyde or Marshmallow, so I guess Clyde it is...

LOL and here's how the conversation went:

me: "so what should we name him?"

her: "I get to pick right?"

me: "uhhh...yeah I guess"

her: "he's so cute, he looks like a marshmallow"

me: "what about 'Bandit' or something"

her: "I like marshmallow. It's perfect!"

me: "You can't name the dog marshmallow!"

her: "It will be cute, we can call him 'Marsh' for short!"

me: "sigh. I'm going to bed"

That dog is a "Marshmallow" if I've ever seen one!!

Just kidding. Bandit would be great.

And yeah, we know the fish will eventually outgrow his tank. RIght now he's 1.5" long and we figure we'll have a while with him. I've heard they're delicate so I'm just hoping we have him long enough to NEED the bigger tank. THen we'll probably sell him or trade him back to the LFS for some credit.

I got a Oceanic Biocube 29. Got my Sea Apple in it. Not sure what else to add yet. Definitely going to stay with the stock lights.
